We all experience difficult events in our lives. Some of these events happened a long time ago, and have influenced the way we interact with ourselves and the world. Some of the events are more recent and throw us off the course we were on. We can become stuck in ways of being that are no longer helpful to us and end up causing distress. I believe therapy can be a helpful way to process what has or is happening in our lives and encourage healthy adaptation and growth, so we can live with more peace, happiness and connection.
In our work together, clients are often:
Discovering and strengthening their own voice and learning to let it guide their life.
Recognizing how their old ways of being have become stifling and are wanting to develop healthier and more centered ways of being and relating.
Recovering from emotional wounds (abuse, neglect, attachment injury) experienced in their childhood.
Learning to be kind to and more accepting of themselves.
What I believe about therapy & change:
Therapy is a collaborative process: I bring expertise about human relationships and mental health, and you bring expertise about your own life and who you are. This is where magic can happen.
People are simultaneously doing the best they can AND have capacity for change and growth. My job is to be both non-judgementally accepting AND support your growth process.
