There are many ways we lose touch with our authentic selves: to disconnect from painful emotions and experiences, to keep others comfortable, or perhaps we just get stuck on autopilot in this increasingly fast-paced, technology-driven, chaotic-feeling world. It is becoming harder and harder for us to slow down, reflect, and integrate what is going on around us as well as inside of us. We may also lose touch with the important people in our lives, when every human in this world desires to be loved and understood. I can offer you a nonjudgmental, compassionate and safe space to explore the parts of you that have been hurt, neglected, or silenced, and help you to discover your inner strengths so that you may become the best version of you.
I am a white, settler, able-bodied, cisgender woman of Russian Mennonite and British ancestry who grew up here in Winnipeg. I am committed to the ongoing learning that is necessary for working with diverse populations and supporting the process of reconciliation. I am a registered social worker with eight years of experience in various mental health case management and counselling roles in the non-profit sector. My experience in this field has provided me with an in-depth understanding of individual, relational, and systemic factors that impact people’s lives. I was inspired to deepen my understanding of this work so I returned to school to complete my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and will graduate in 2026. My clinical training thus far has included working with at-risk youth, women and gender diverse folks who’ve experienced various forms of violence, and adults who’ve experienced childhood sexual abuse.
When I am not doing therapy (or reading about it), I enjoy spending time with my partner and our three cats, cooking, being in nature, dancing and yoga. Through my own journey with therapy, I have learned how important it is to explore healing through a holistic lens. I am committed to finding compassion for the ways I show up in the world – for the parts of me that feel hard to heal and for the old patterns that show themselves at times. I am human, just like you.
I’m glad you made it this far - It can be incredibly difficult to reach out for support and to share our inner world with others. If you are curious about how we might work together, I look forward to hearing from you!
