The struggles that we experience as individuals, partners, parents or families can be painful and often leave us feeling disconnected. Therapy offers the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, with our emotions, with loved ones and with our own internal wisdom and hope that often seem lost in such tough times. You are not alone. There is hope. I can help.
As a therapist and social worker, I offer attachment-based therapy that helps people - whether on their own or with loved ones - find pathways through their challenges into connected and loving relationships with oneself and/or with others. By helping you practice naming and regulating emotions as well as identifying the patterns in which we all get stuck, you will be able to stop fights or moments of disconnection before they happen and to understand and communicate differently with loved ones and even with yourself.
My role in our work together is to provide a calm, supportive and grounded base that will allow you to be curious and learn more about yourself and/or your loved ones. I am passionate about helping individuals feel more centered, connected and supported in their lives as well as helping partners and families experience peaceful and loving relationships. I am also committed to celebrating your intersecting identities and unique experiences. Whatever your challenges may be, let's talk and start to figure all of it out, together.
I feel blessed to have wonderful people in my life, including a partner, two children, family and friends, who all help me to put into practice the very things about which I talk in therapy. As a social worker who has worked in community health for 17 years, I have supported people living with the effects of chronic illness, problematic substance use, addiction, poverty, housing insecurity, grief, loss, trauma, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia and so much more. It has been this work with so many incredible individuals that inspired me to return to school to become a therapist. I wanted to help people in a different way; I am now able to and have the privilege of sitting with and listening to people as they, with my help, work through their challenges. I love what I do and I would be honoured to work with you.
