There are times when we may develop thoughts and feeling about ourselves that are no longer useful, that disconnect us from who we really are and from the important people around us. If you are feeling stuck in your thoughts, feelings, habits or ways of being, therapy can help you to grow and connect with yourself and those close to you again.
Through our work together, I can guide you to create new stories based on your unique view of the world. These new stories can help you step into your own power and let go of what no longer belongs to you. Whether you are seeking therapy for yourself or with your partner or family member, my approach focuses on helping you to find more presence, compassion, and clarity in your life and relationships. Let’s work together to bring back perspective and liveliness into your life in creative, adaptive, and safe ways.
Qualifications & Experience
In my practice, I support individuals (teens and adults), couples and families. I hold a Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and am a registered therapist with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. I have over 13 years of experience working as a mental health counsellor, supporting individuals through times of crisis and transition in their lives.
In my work, I draw from a number of approaches, including Mindful Self-Compassion, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Self-Regulation Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Intergenerational Therapy. I have additional professional training in a number of these models.
About Me
Doing therapy is one of my passions, along with cultivating a healthy body and mind through mindfulness meditation, self compassion, exercise, music, nature, reading, and time spent with my wife, daughter and dog.
