Hi, and welcome.

I believe that all of us generally want the same things out of life – meaningful connections, love with ourselves and others, purpose, and direction.  These might seem like simple ideas, but a lot of things can get in the way.   I would love to sit down with you and help you untangle some of the challenges and complications that you’ve been sorting out – we all have them, but sometimes it’s really helpful to have an extra pair of hands on deck.

I have been working as a clinical therapist for nine years, and find myself drawn to this work more than ever.  I consider it an absolute privilege to learn about the lives and stories of others, and to do what I can to help lighten a person’s load, or to help them feel heard, or to understand themselves a bit better.  I’m a firm believer that a little kindness and compassion can go a long way, both for others and ourselves.  Life can be hard and complicated at times, and if you’d like, I’d be happy to be part of putting some of the pieces together with you.

I’m Steven, a cisgender male of European descent, born and raised in Winnipeg.  I have a wife and two kids as part of a larger blended family, as well as a fairly grumpy cat.  In my spare time (such as it is these days), I enjoy music (playing and listening), sports (playing and watching), the outdoors, gaming, movies, reading, and woodcarving.  I am very purposeful about maintaining healthy balance in all aspects of my life, as I feel this is important for long-term health for anyone.   I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, as well as an Advanced Arts Undergraduate Degree in Psychology.  I am registered as a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
